Open Cycle Power Plant
An open cycle power plant is characterized by the electricity generation by a particular generator set.
A gas turbine consists of an air inlet section, an air compressor, a combustor, an expansion turbine assembly and an exhaust system. As the compressor rotates, it draws in and compresses ambient air which then flows into the combustor.
Fuel is mix with the compressed air and burned into the combustor. The resulting high-energy hot gas passes through the expansion turbine which extracts energy to drive the air compressor and the load.
